Player event : Help a fellow player day
Would like to see a day set aside where we can gather in the main areas, Kaineng Center, Ascalon and Kamadan to help fellow players through the game. Those with more experiance could offer their services for free and those needing help could ask for it without fear of being flamed. I for one am always willing to help another player out. Be it in the early missions or even the later ones on the ring of fire for example. Would also help with lack of players to use in a pug for those just getting Prophs or Factions.
Maybe Anet could come up with a title for those that take part and help others? Dunno how that would work but would be cool.

Knight online had a reward system for helping new players level up, they earned "manner points" which served zero purpose, but was rumored to do almost anything.
I'd love to see some positive reinforcement that put that to work here in GW, that way you wouldn't see people charging for help with missions, or power leveling(well some, not all), because it would reap it's own rewards.
A title, and a bar in your faction area on Hero page, that as it fills up, you can spend it like faction on event items, spiked eggnog for example, or out of season holiday hats. Those highly sought after useless things.
Choice of a Birthday present(graduation present) or title when the title bar fills up.
That would supply short term drive, and long term drive.

Why do you need a special day? Just set aside some time on your own to help. I like the idea of a reward title for helping, but I think it would be kinda hard to keep track of. What is considered help? Answering a newbie question in open chat? Doing a mission with a Lvl 5 player when you're a 20? It's all subjective.
My level 20 factions ranger has been doing the low level Ascalon missions and I've had some Lvl 5-7 players in my group, but I wasn't really doing the mission to help them, I needed the mission as well. Would that earn me reward points?
A "Good Samaratian" title track would be nice where other players can give your character points towards the title or take away points from your title, but unfortunately I can't see this becoming reality because it could be abused so easily.
But now you have my mind cranking out ideas. LOL. How's this for starters? Feel free to improve upon it.
Good Samaratian Title Track
- Titles earned at 100 gold star points, 500 gold stars and 1000 gold stars.
- Other players can give you a star or take away a star from you for a small fee of 10g. (Perhaps 10g per level of player. A level 5 can rate you for 50g, a level 20 pays 200g)
- You can only rate another player's account once. So you can't give your buddy 200 gold stars. You can only give him 1 star.
- You remove a star from a person if you feel they are being rude, obnoxious, ragequitting, etc. Again, you pay the rating fee and only once per account.
I like this plan, but how can it become "abuse proof"? Hmm, perhaps prevent guildies and alliance members from rating folks in their own alliance would help as well.

Thinking it over a bit, here are 2 problems I see immediately with my idea.....
Kaineng District 1:
Player1: "Giving gold stars for 250g"
Spammer: "Selling gold stars for 200g"
Spammer2:"Level 4 selling gold stars for only 50g!!!!!!"
Spammer2:"Level 4 selling gold stars for only 50g!!!!!!"
Disgruntled:"PLAYER 4 IS A SCAMMER!!!!!! GIVE HIM BLACK STARS!!!"
Spammer2:"Level 4 selling gold stars for only 50g!!!!!!"
Spammer2:"Level 4 selling gold stars for only 50g!!!!!!"
Disgruntled:"PLAYER 4 IS A SCAMMER!!!!!! GIVE HIM BLACK STARS!!!"
Spammer: "Selling gold stars for 200g"
Disgruntled:"PLAYER 4 IS A SCAMMER!!!!!! GIVE HIM BLACK STARS!!!"
Spammer: "Selling gold stars for 200g"
Fed Up: "Disgruntled is a SPAMMER!!! Give HIM Black stars!!!"
Perhaps the way to solve this is to only allow folks to rate others if they have at least 1 gold star themselves. (This title will span all characters too, btw). I'm sure the spammers would be getting lots of black stars.

Love the idea, and I am one of those helpful people everyday. I do find it sad that this even had to be suggested. It would make for a sweet weekend, most of the little jerks would be on best behavior. LOL

Gold stars, giving AND taking away?
bleh, use the info that's there, players % XP earned under me.
You only get it as party leader.
You can only do the same acount the same # character slots it has, will limit some of the abuse)
simple, effective, you can't buy it..."Sure, I'll let you pay me to level me up..."
Make the first title a relative low amount, 100,000.(50 people, lvl 0 to lvl 20)
((Or level 1 -20 whatever, maybe my math is off, is it year 2007, or 2008 because we passed 2007 round about new years)
Anyways, steadily increase that # by large incriments up to a max Title.
They get 2x or 3x points for % awarded from quests and missions, or whatever modifier will make it easier to do quests than to powerlevel them.
There, a decent system that will get plenty of title seekers actively working with noobs.
OK, not so simple anymore, but mostly foolproof, no more so than buying 100 unid golds, or 1000 minutes worth of alcohol.(whatever, i know that didn't come out right)
